Were to begin...

Last week I got the awesome chance to go to Los Angeles, California for Week of E. Basically a week long mission trip.

I was not sure how I was going to put into words the experience's because words will not do justice to what my eyes seen. But here goes...

Day 1-We left LCC at 6:50ish, and headed to O'Hare. We knew as a group we were going to be late getting there. We pulled into the airport 15 min. before our flight was supposed to take off. By the grace of God we all made it through the crowd, and to the gate as they were shutting the door. TO make it even more of a God thing...ALL of our luggage made it as well.

We got to L.A. and renting a car was the WORSE experiance....we only had one car..(the van) changed to the account, and we needed an extra car because we had more people then seats. An hour and 45 min we were there, we had not eaten, and we were all kind of acting DUMB because we were confined for 4 hours and 30 min on a FULL flight....

We finally got it all settled and we were off....so we thought....the car they gave us....the battery was DEAD....so we in turn got a Colbt we named "LIGHTING" it was bright yellow, and looked GREAT. What is even crazier.....we got a 12 passenger van, and a 5 passenger car...and all together we had 19 people.....

We then headed for the church, and learned the mission group were were going to work with canceled...the AFTERNOON before...so our host was lost at what to do, but that will come later:)

We finally got FOOD....and lots of it. 60 mini tacos for 45 bucks!!! It was a deal, and GOOD. We had a real meal like an hour later, but think about it 17 college students that had not eaten ALL day....yea...."DUH UMB" We all went across the street to the park, and played frisbee after that.

It hit me in that moment at the park that we were the minorities in the neighborhood. We were in a high gang populated part of town, 95% Latino, and homeless. We had a curfew of 6:30, and we were to go in groups of two or more....and the girls....yea we were not aloud anywhere without a guy.

So day 1 was cool, ad day 2 is even better......
